Job Title: Middle Grades Math Teacher
Position Overview:
Pinecrest Academy is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Middle Grades Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics education and committed to helping students develop strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and a love for learning. This teacher will create a rigorous, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that encourages academic growth for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver math instruction aligned to Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards for middle grades
- Develop lessons that build conceptual understanding, computational skills, and critical thinking
- Use assessment data, including state and classroom assessments, to inform instruction and differentiate for diverse learners
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and accountability
- Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning strategies to enhance student understanding
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to improve instruction
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all school, district, and state requirements
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) in Mathematics (Grades 5–9 or 6–12)
- Knowledge of Florida standards and state assessment requirements
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics
- ESOL endorsement or Reading Endorsement
- Experience with differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, or project-based learning
