Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in fine dining and a strong background in food preparation, showcasing leadership skills while assisting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, as well as ensuring efficient kitchen management.
Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, development, and execution of culinary offerings.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food production meets quality standards and dietary department requirements.
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment while managing training and development.
- Coordinate special events, ensuring timely preparation and presentation of dishes.
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing food costs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
- Participate in food service management activities, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining establishments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
- Familiarity with banquet operations and dietary department practices is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Passion for culinary excellence and creativity in food production.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Scratch pizza and pasta as well as other dough management experience a plus
