Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Childcare Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that promotes the holistic development of children ages 6 months to 6 years old. Your expertise in Montessori methods will inspire curiosity, independence, and a love for learning among our toddlers. Qualifications
Applicants must have experience working with young children. Lead teachers will be present for assistance at all times.
Montessori experience or knowledge is preferred.
Duties
- Help implement Montessori curriculum tailored to toddlers’ developmental stages, focusing on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management
- Help execute engaging lesson plans that foster curiosity and support early intervention strategies for children with special educational needs
- Observe and assess each child's progress to collaborate with the lead teacher on progress reports
- Manage classroom activities efficiently to ensure smooth transitions between lessons and routines while maintaining high standards of childcare and classroom management
- Assist in incorporating Montessori principles into daily activities to promote self-directed learning, fine motor skills, and early literacy education
Skills
- Knowledge of Montessori teaching methods and early childhood education best practices (or willingness to learn)
- Proven experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings, especially with toddlers
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while fostering a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of physical education activities suitable for toddlers to promote motor skills development
- Knowledge of child welfare standards, daycare regulations, and safety protocols within childcare settings
