Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and professional Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to operate tractor trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to safety. This role involves working with refrigerated reefers and maintaining the product organized from loading point to unloading point. Must check and maintain temperature of reefer throughout trip in order to maintain freshness of product to customers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport refrigerated product such as produce, meats, and perishable items
- Adhere to all traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency response procedures, and school policies during operation.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning; perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected situations with appropriate defensive driving techniques and emergency stop procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports; communicate effectively with dispatch and team members.
- Follow behavior management protocols when operating vehicle.
- Perform light vehicle maintenance tasks such as refueling or minor repairs when required; report mechanical issues promptly.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by demonstrating professionalism, patience, and clear communication skills.
- Be willing to go to Puebla, Mexico and return to US
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Proven experience in freight transportation, operating tractor ,trailer and reefers of 53ft (preferible)
- Minimum 1 year of experience driving in the New England area such as (NY, NJ, CT, MA,RI, etc)
- Always carry proof when driving reefer and NO accidents on record
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency response procedures for transportation, and school policies.
- Strong communication skills; ability to work effectively with team and colleagues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g.,loading, unloading, handling equipment).
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance or troubleshooting is a plus. Not required
- Excellent defensive driving skills; quick response to traffic changes; familiarity with emergency stop procedures.
- Demonstrated behavior management skills when operating vehicle
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe transportation environment.
- Must have experience in going to NY and how to operate GPS
- When returning from Mexico to US must do minimum of 4 drops in area of New England (NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, etc)
- Must have availability for 2 or 3 months, if doing over road minimum 1 month
- Must be willing to do drug/alcohol test

Pay: $1,800.00 - $2,600.00 per week
