Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports To: Quality Supervisor
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly
The Quality Assurance Technician’s main function is to ensure the fast & accurate handling of documents and raw material tests to support the quality team in raw material or finish product verification. This person will have a working knowledge of current food safety regulations and GFSI requirements. The position may require work with cross-functional teams to ensure that raw material or finished products are inspected and released in a timely manner and that non-conforming product disposition is handled in an efficient manner. Ideally, this individual should have previous experience within a food-processing environment or food testing lab.

Conduct swabbing and other sampling (water, air, etc.) following environmental monitoring

Conduct trend analysis on the environmental

Report any positive result, conduct investigation, and follow up on the

Perform shelf life study on finished
-
Monitor coolers temperature, report any non-conformance, and follow up on the
-
Maintain QA records in safe, secure, and orderly manner

Participate in internal and external quality
-
Maintain a clean & tidy work

Other duties as

A Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline (Food Science preferred)

1+ years of laboratory or manufacturing industry experience
-
2+ years’ experience utilizing Microsoft office with intermediate proficiency

1+ years’ experience with HACCP, GMP and allergen management
-
Experience with GFSI considered an asset

Good oral & written communication skills

Ability to work in a high paced and stressful environment

Schedule flexibility including working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime
