Toddler Teacher
Reports To: Center Director / Assistant Director

Position Summary
At Imagination Station Early Learning Center, our Toddler Teachers play a vital role in fostering a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children ages 12–24 months can learn, explore, and grow. The Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support each child's cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development. This position requires patience, flexibility, teamwork, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Child Care & Classroom Instruction
- Create and maintain a warm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and early learning.
- Promote language development, social skills, and independence through daily interactions and play.
- Observe children's developmental progress and communicate milestones or concerns with leadership.
- Adapt learning experiences to meet the individual needs of each child.
Supervision & Safety
- Provide constant active supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
- Maintain required teacher-to-child ratios in accordance with Nevada childcare licensing regulations.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
- Complete daily health checks and monitor children for signs of illness or injury.
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, or concerns to administration.
Daily Care Responsibilities
- Perform diaper changes and assist with toilet training using proper sanitation procedures.
- Feed children according to scheduled meal and snack times while encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Maintain accurate daily records, including meals, diapering, naps, activities, and parent communications.
- Assist children with handwashing, personal hygiene, and self-help skills.
- Ensure toys, classroom materials, and learning environments are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.
Family Engagement
- Build positive, respectful relationships with families.
- Communicate daily regarding each child's activities, development, meals, naps, and overall well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
- Support family involvement and encourage open communication.
Team Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with fellow teachers and administrators to ensure high-quality care.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
- Support center events, classroom transitions, and daily operations as needed.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with licensing requirements and company policies.
- Provide classroom coverage when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or early childhood coursework preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and meet Nevada childcare licensing requirements.
- Must complete all required pre-service and annual professional development training.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, and safely move children weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and sit on the floor for extended periods.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
- Respond quickly during emergencies and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Perform frequent cleaning, sanitizing, and classroom setup duties.

- Maintain accurate documentation and complete all required reports in a timely manner.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
