Duties
- Operate cash registers (POS systems) accurately and efficiently during retail sales transactions.
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions or special offers to enhance sales opportunities.
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits.
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise, stock levels, and merchandising standards to support sales efforts.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is tidy and inviting.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer calls.
- Support supervising staff during busy periods or when needed to ensure smooth store operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations.
- Strong basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Experience in supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and inventory management is beneficial.
- Ability to handle cash drawer handling responsibly and maintain accuracy during high-volume periods.
