SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision from the Comm Authority Director, contributes to the efficient daily operation of Comm Authority by receiving and processing all Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Lea County. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Receives and responds to public records requests in a timely manner.

Produces records for the public, attorneys, and the District Attorney's office.

Reviews and redacts sensitive information from recordings and records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Maintains complete and accurate records of all IPRA requests.

Prepares regular reports on status and outcome of record requests.

Updates maps in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.

Attends court hearings to authenticate 911 recordings and CAD logs.

Assists Fire departments with e-dispatch configurations.

Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures related to records management and IPRA compliance.

Responds to requests for service at customer service window.

Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication within the department and builds and fosters effective working relationships with the public and others.
- Complies with all property and department policies and procedures.

Maintains strict confidentiality of all information processed through the department including records, reports, documents, conversations, etc.

Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED.
-
Three (3) years' experience in emergency communications, law enforcement, or related environment.

Must obtain and maintain Law Enforcement Communications, Emergency Medical Dispatcher, First Aid/CPR, and NCIC certifications.

A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.

Valid driver's license is required when operating a vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements including a background check and drug/alcohol screening.

- Applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, requirements, principles, and practices of IPRA and public record requests.

Principles and practices of emergency dispatch and communications.

Skill in:

Operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, database software programs, and industry-related applications in a Windows environment, including CAD, Mediaworks Recorder, Insider Center Recorder, and GIS Feature Editor software.

Reading, reviewing, preparing, and analyzing operational reports, contracts, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and other business-related documents.

Analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. The employee may be exposed occasionally to hostile, offensive, and / or violent individuals. Evening work is occasionally required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel is required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events. Incumbent is subject to call out at any time.
