Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly and efficiently
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to enhance sales
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to maintain an organized and attractive store layout
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and cash handling procedures with precision and integrity
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory counts
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering duties in a retail or grocery store environment
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities that help serve diverse customer needs
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and product demos is highly desirable
- Effective phone etiquette and upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities
