Compensation: $50,000 – $65,000 base, commensurate with experience, plus benefits

About Sanctuary
Sanctuary Clinics and Communities is a faith-integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment organization with operations in Florida and Cozumel, Mexico. We are CARF-accredited and operate Partial Hospitalization (PHP) / day treatment, seven days a week. As we expand our payer network and bring revenue cycle operations in-house, we are hiring our first dedicated behavioral health biller to anchor the department.
Responsibilities
- Verification of Benefits for all new admissions across Sanctuary locations.
- Daily PHP per diem claim submission (HCPCS H0035 / revenue code 0912 or 0913), seven days a week per client.
- Payment posting and ERA/EOB reconciliation.
- AR follow-up: working aged claims, calling payers, submitting reconsiderations and routine appeals.
- Patient billing for deductibles, coinsurance, and self-pay balances.
- Supporting Ashley on prior authorization paperwork and concurrent-review submissions. Daily and weekly KPI reporting to the Director of RCM.
- Maintaining HIPAA compliance and adherence to payer contract requirements.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of behavioral health or SUD billing experience (general medical billing only is not a fit).
- Familiarity with the Florida payer landscape: Florida Blue/BCBS-FL, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Magellan, Beacon/Carelon, TRICARE East.
- Working knowledge of PHP/day treatment billing (per diem codes, place of service, modifiers).
- Experience with at least one major behavioral health EHR or PM platform: Opus, Kipu, BestNotes, Sigmund, CollaborateMD, AdvancedMD, or comparable.
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable on the phone with payers.

- Self-directed; able to operate effectively in a small remote-friendly team.
Preferred
- CPB (Certified Professional Biller) or CPC certification.
- Direct Opus EHR billing module or CollaborateMD experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish (for coordination with the Cozumel program). Prior experience standing up a billing function from scratch.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
