Position Overview
The Medical Insurance Billing & Coding Instructor is responsible for creating an engaging learning environment where students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in the healthcare field. You will teach and mentor students through classroom instruction, skills development, and practical learning experiences while serving as a positive professional role model.
This is a part-time faculty position.
Schedule
Hybrid Schedule
- Monday – Thursday
- 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
What You'll DoTeach & Inspire
- Deliver engaging instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum and accreditation standards.
- Prepare and present lessons using a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and interactive learning activities.
- Foster student engagement and encourage academic success in both classroom and online environments.
Support Student Success
- Identify and address individual student learning needs.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship throughout the educational journey.
- Meet with students to discuss academic progress, challenges, and career goals.
- Serve as a professional role model who promotes excellence, integrity, and professionalism.
Evaluate & Track Progress
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Prepare, administer, and grade written and practical examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Monitor student achievement and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
Collaborate & Contribute
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with Program Directors and fellow faculty members to enhance student outcomes.
- Assist in the development and preparation of instructional resources and learning materials.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current MIBC Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in Medical Insurance Billing & Coding.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and support adult learners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
