RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Review customer material specifications and develop metallurgical requirements for forged products.
-Provide technical support to sales, quality, and manufacturing teams throughout production and order execution.
-Investigate customer complaints, material failures, and internal quality issues to determine root causes and corrective actions.
-Develop and maintain metallurgical procedures, work instructions, and testing standards for internal operations and suppliers.
-Conduct and oversee mechanical testing, metallurgical evaluations, and failure analysis activities.
-Support product development and process improvement initiatives that enhance quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in metallurgy or heavy industrial manufacturing.
-2+ years of experience interpreting material specifications, mechanical testing, or metallurgical analysis in a manufacturing environment.
-Experience supporting quality investigations, failure analysis, or root cause analysis involving ferrous materials or forged products.
-Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and operations teams.
PREFERRED:
-5+ years of experience in ferrous metallurgy, preferably within a forging, steel mill, or heavy metals manufacturing environment.
-Experience working with open-die forgings, heat treatment processes, and heavy-section steel products.
-Experience performing mechanical testing, microstructural analysis, and metallurgical failure investigations.
-Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, AMS, or customer-specific material specifications for critical applications.
-Experience developing metallurgical procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
-Experience supporting aerospace, defense, oil & gas, or power generation customers with specialty alloy products.
