About Bold Steps Behavioral Health
Bold Steps Behavioral Health provides primary mental health treatment within an integrated SUD and MH programming model. Our programs serve individuals whose primary diagnosis is mental health, while also addressing substance use history when clinically appropriate. Treatment is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and delivered within structured levels of care.
Position Summary
The Primary Mental Health Therapist provides individual and group therapy to clients whose primary diagnosis is mental health, while collaborating within a broader SUD and MH programming environment. This role focuses on mental health stabilization, emotional regulation, trauma processing, and functional improvement, while supporting integrated care when co-occurring substance use is present.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Provide individual, group, and psychoeducational therapy within primary mental health programming.
- Facilitate groups that support mental health stabilization within SUD and MH treatment tracks.
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing clinical evaluations.
- Utilize evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based approaches.
- Collaborate with SUD clinicians, psychiatry, nursing, and case management to support integrated care.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation aligned with SUD and MH programming standards.
- Ensure documentation meets insurance, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in treatment planning, utilization review, and interdisciplinary case discussions.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision, and case consultation.
- Engage in ongoing training related to mental health treatment within SUD/MH settings.
- Adhere to organizational policies, ethical standards, and clinical best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Master’s-level clinical licensure in New Hampshire.
- Strong clinical skills in mental health assessment and treatment.
- Ability to work effectively within integrated SUD and MH programming.
Licensure Requirements
- LICSW, LCMHC, or MLADC (with strong mental health experience)
- Clinicians working toward independent licensure may be considered (if applicable)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in PHP, IOP, or outpatient mental health and SUD/MH programs.
- Experience treating trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and emotional disregulation.
- Group facilitation experience.
