Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Prepare and assemble deli items with precision, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including food handling, sanitation, and bussing duties
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and integrity during transactions
- Assist with food preparation tasks like slicing meats, cheeses, and other deli offerings while adhering to food industry safety protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, register operations, and retail math calculations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or bending as needed
- Experience in grocery stores or cafes can be beneficial but is not mandatory
