Job Summary
Barrett Paving Materials MWC is seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Industrial Maintenance Technicians. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping plant equipment running at its best through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. You will play a key part in reducing downtime, supporting efficient production, and ensuring a safe working environment. Main Responsibilities
· Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment including conveyors, crushers, mixers, dryers, and dust collection systems
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
· Inspect equipment, check fluids and wear parts, and complete routine servicing
· Troubleshoot breakdowns and work with operations to quickly restore production
· Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and start-ups
· Perform basic electrical and control work within scope, including motors and wiring
· Document maintenance work, parts used, and repairs in maintenance systems
· Support predictive maintenance initiatives (vibration checks, oil sampling, etc.)
· Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols
· Respond to emergency repairs and provide on-call support when needed
· Work closely with team members to improve equipment performance and reliability
Qualifications
· Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain certifications
· Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs in an industrial or heavy equipment environment
· Experience in asphalt, aggregates, construction, mining, or similar industries preferred
· Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
· Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
· Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
· Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred
· Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently when needed
· Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (heavier loads with assistance)
· Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when needed
· Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to dust, noise, heat, and cold
· Required use of PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
· Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed
Preferred Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training a plus
