Housekeeping Staff
Location: Arvada Care and Rehabilitation Center – Arvada, Colorado
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies.
Pay Range
$18 – $20 per hour
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other factors permitted by law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily housekeeping duties in resident rooms, common areas, and offices as assigned
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, wax, and disinfect floors and carpets
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and windows
- Dust and polish furniture, equipment, and surfaces
- Clean walls, ceilings, hallways, stairways, and elevators
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste properly, and replace liners
- Clean and prepare vacant rooms
- Follow infection control procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous and infectious materials
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with guidelines
- Ensure work areas and equipment are clean and properly stored
- Coordinate cleaning schedules with nursing and other departments when needed
- Respect resident rights, including privacy and dignity
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to dust, cleaning agents, and infectious materials
Work Environment
- Work is performed throughout the facility, including resident rooms and common areas
- May require working weekends, holidays, extended hours, or different shifts
- May be exposed to odors, chemicals, and infectious diseases
- Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and visitors
