Overview
Alma Prep is looking for highly qualified mathematics tutors for its high school students. Our students are typically engaged in higher level mathematics courses (Calculus, Multivariable, Linear Algebra, AIME, AMC, etc.).
Applicants should have ample experience tutoring at this level.
Applicants should submit their resume and a very brief cover letter explaining their interests and qualifications for the position.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Assess student progress regularly through assessments and evaluations; adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize understanding
- Provide targeted test preparation tutoring for standardized exams covering advanced math concepts and science subjects like biochemistry, microbiology, and organic chemistry
- Support students with classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment during virtual sessions
- Collaborate with parents and educators to track student development and recommend personalized learning pathways
- Incorporate knowledge of specialized fields such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and computer science to enrich lessons when applicable
Skills
- Proven experience teaching math at the high school or higher education level with high school students
Recommended
- Graduation from a reputable 4-year university institution with a math/math-adjacent/STEM degree
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
