Job Summary:
This position reports to our Manufacturing Modules Department and is responsible for setting up and operating the SMT lines, visually inspecting assemblies, providing feedback to the Production Group Lead regarding problems and ensuring all quality requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the Fuzion and/or Genesis SMT lines, including the Pick and Place machine, Solder Paste Inspection machine, X-Ray and Juki printer. Expected to always be present on the line.
- Visually inspect assemblies for solder quality, component placement accuracy, missing parts and other possible errors.
- Provide feedback to the Production Group Lead regarding problems and issues.
- Ensure all quality requirements and standards are met and/or exceeded.
- Identify and bring forward continuous improvement suggestions.
- Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to the Production Group Lead or Supervisor.
- Assist with training as needed.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of work area.
- Participate in team activities and actively share knowledge and best practices with the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to details.
- Ability to read and understand basic work instructions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience with soldering including SMT and through hole.
- Familiar with AOI equipment.
- Experience working with Pick and Place machines or similar, in a machine operator role.
- Experience working with electronic components.
- Knowledge of IPC J-STD and IPC-A-610 standards.
