WHO WE ARE
ALFA Advisory is an elite, niche Registered Investment Advisor dedicated to owners of closely-held businesses preparing for high-value exits. Founded in 2023, we have grown quickly, with monthly revenues up 65% year-over-year, and we are building toward a long-term vision of becoming a world-class, one-stop financial ecosystem for entrepreneurs.
Our mission is to help entrepreneurs transform their hard work and the impact they create into wealth that gives them freedom: freedom to choose, freedom to give, and freedom to fund their next big dream. We bring the elite wealth strategies once reserved for the already-wealthy to the business owners who are the real backbone of families, communities, and the economy.
Our Core Values are:
- Excellence: We hold ourselves to the highest standard in everything we deliver, because the entrepreneurs we serve have earned nothing less.
- Accountability: We own our outcomes fully, treating every result as ours to drive and every gap as ours to close.
- Collaboration: We move as one team, sharing context and lifting each other so the firm performs beyond the sum of its parts.
- Integrity: We do right by our clients and each other in every decision, because trust is the foundation of everything we build.
- Innovation: We continually look for better ways to serve and refuse to settle for the way things have always been done.
We put a premium on strong talent and great energy; our small team only wants to work with other high-performing people with a sense of humor. Life is too short to not love what you do, and the work we choose is one of the biggest ways we can make an impact on our community and world!
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ALFA Advisory team is looking for a systematic, resourceful, and execution-focused Operations Manager to serve as the firm's Integrator. You will sit between our visionary founder and our execution team, owning the firm's operational infrastructure and building the connective tissue that links our work into one coherent system. The application code word is KEYSTONE.
This is the pivotal hire that bridges the gap between strategy and daily execution. Our team is talented and operates with high trust, and they are ready for an objective scoreboard and a formal management operating system to run on. You will be the person who builds it. By installing clarity and consistency, you will help create the culture of how we work and show up.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Denver, Colorado, requiring a physical presence in the office three days a week for close coordination with the founder and team, with two days of remote flexibility.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE
You will be the first dedicated operations leader at a firm in a genuine growth chapter. Rather than maintaining a system someone else built, you get to design it from the ground up across a fragmented stack of more than 25 industry tools, including Wealthbox, Orion, eMoney, and Fidelity.
Your ultimate outcome is to free the founder from acting as the firm's de facto project manager and resolution path for every operational question, reclaiming roughly 20 hours of weekly strategic space for high-level synthesis and business development. As that space opens up, the firm gains the capacity to scale toward its goal of a billion dollars in assets under management. This role rewards an operator who runs toward fires, sees operational gaps and owns them, and gets energized by bringing order to a fast-moving environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES (TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROLE):
Translate Vision into Execution
- Formally document and operationalize the firm's strategic roadmap so the team is never forced to fly blind or rebuild processes from memory
- Take the founder's broad vision and translate it into detailed, executable plans with clear owners and timelines
Build the Management Operating System
- Centralize project tracking into a single source of truth, replacing the current reliance on manual spreadsheets
- Manage the connective tissue across a fragmented tech stack of more than 25 industry tools, building coherent workflows that link them together
- Manage complex, multi-stage client journeys and internal operational cycles
Hiring & Talent Management
- Lead the recruiting, selection, and onboarding of specialized talent so the firm scales with genius-level executors
- Manage and develop a team of high performers, providing the objective feedback and KPIs they need to grow professionally
Data & Visibility
- Convert raw operational data into forward-looking visual displays that enable informed executive decision-making
- Establish the objective scoreboard the team currently lacks
Operational Resolution & Stability
- Serve as the primary point of resolution for operational ambiguities and technical hurdles
- Vet client offers and pricing against firm-wide capacity and margin before they go to market
REQUIREMENTS (EXPECTED PROFICIENCIES):
Experience (Non-Negotiable)
- A minimum of five years of operational leadership experience, ideally within wealth management, tax advisory, or management consulting
- A proven track record in a Registered Investment Advisor or similar high-compliance environment where navigating regulatory requirements is a daily reality
- Demonstrated success as a systems builder and optimizer, specifically in transitioning a firm from manual, decentralized processes to a professional management operating system
- Experience acting as a thinking partner to a visionary founder, with the seniority to translate high-level strategy into a detailed, executable roadmap
- Organized project management experience across complex, multi-stage client journeys and internal operational cycles
Core Competencies
- Systematic thinking and organization: you take a founder's broad vision and document the detailed schematics and judgment required to execute it
- Financial acumen with a profitability focus: you can vet client offers and pricing for firm-wide capacity and margin
- Backoffice coordination across a fragmented, multi-tool tech stack
- Data translation: you turn raw operational data into clear, forward-looking visual displays
Critical Soft Skills
- Resourceful problem solver who runs toward fires and independently closes gaps without waiting for a detailed schematic or permission
- People skills to manage, develop, and influence a team of high performers with critical, objective feedback
- Professional ownership: you see operational deficiencies and own them until they are resolved
- Exceptional communicator and coordinator who bridges leadership's strategic goals and the team's daily reality
Logistics & Cultural Fit
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-mode environment where roadmaps evolve and the operator builds the airplane while flying it
- Able to work in the Denver office three days a week, with two days of remote flexibility
- Self-directed and accountable to outcomes, with strong attention to detail and organization
- Must pass a background check and be willing to undergo fingerprinting for licensing, if required.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- First 30 days: You have learned the business deeply, mapped the current client journey and the full tool stack, and built strong working relationships with the founder and team.
- By 60 days: A single source of truth for project tracking is live, replacing the manual spreadsheets, and you have proposed the firm's operating cadence.
- By 90 days: The management operating system is running, the objective scoreboard and KPIs are in place, and the founder is beginning to step back from day-to-day operational resolution.
- By 180 days: The founder is freed from acting as the firm's de facto project manager and primary troubleshooter, with strategic space reclaimed, and the firm is running on a coherent, scalable system.
BENEFITS
- Salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience
- This is a W2 Position in Denver, Colorado
- Competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability insurance, and 401(k) with match
- Flexible hybrid work arrangement (three days in office, two days remote). Our office is located at 4949 South Syracuse St. Suite 540 Denver, CO 80237
- Professional Development: this role will be supported by an external Ops program that includes Ops mentorship, community, and live coaching
