As a Lawn Care Technician, you'll help keep residential and commercial properties healthy and looking their best throughout the season. This role combines hands-on outdoor work with turf care knowledge, equipment operation, route management, and customer service. You’ll assess lawns, apply treatments, operate lawn care equipment, and help identify issues before they become bigger problems. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable working outdoors, and takes pride in doing quality work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Chemical Application: Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides
- accurately according to product labels and state regulations.
- Turf Assessment: Inspect lawns for weeds, insects, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies,
- and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Equipment Operation: Safely drive and operate application rigs, spreader/sprayer units,
- push spreaders, backpack blowers, and hand tools.
- Route Management: Navigate daily service routes efficiently using GPS or maps.
- Customer Service: Answer client questions professionally, leave detailed service notes,
- and report major issues to management.
- Safety & Maintenance: Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), follow
- environmental safety rules, and clean equipment daily.

Qualifications and Licenses:
- Licensing: Valid State of Michigan Commercial Pesticide Applicator License 3A, 3B, & 6 (or willingness and ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire).
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Skills:
- Experience: Prior landscaping or turf management experience is preferred, but training is often provided for the right candidate.
- Communication: Good reading, writing, and interpersonal skills to interpret chemical labels and talk with clients.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling while performing lawn and turf care tasks.
- Ability to operate lawn care equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, backpack blowers, and hand tools.
- Ability to safely handle and wear required PPE and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
