PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under supervision, performs public contact and clerical work in processing and issuing motor vehicle licenses, mobile machinery, sales taxes and fees.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Office Duties:
- Prepares and types letters and forms;
- Establishes and maintains files;

Processes mail;
- Enters data into computer;

Responds to phone and personal inquiries;

Receives property tax payments;

Places telephone calls to delinquent taxpayers;

Assists in collection of delinquent taxes;
License Duties:
- Issues new plates and renewal tabs for vehicles;

Issues reminder cards;
-
Transfers plates;
-
Verifies VIN numbers with plates;
-
Issues licenses for mobile machinery;
Financial Duties:
- Balances cash drawer daily;

Reconciles bank statements;
-
Collects bad checks;
-
Deposits funds;
- Collects sales taxes and fees;

Maintains inventory;
