American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring strong PICU experience and the ability to float between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 320 staffed beds
-
Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2, with potential for 1:3 when floating to NICU
-
Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) available
-
Required to float within scope between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU based on facility needs
-
Every other weekend required, with openness to blocked weekend scheduling
-
No on-call responsibilities

Uses Cerner charting system
-
Active DC RN license required; MD/VA applicants require compact or state license

Pending license accepted, with active license required before start date

Current BLS and PALS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required

Strong PICU experience required with comfort floating to CVPICU and NICU

Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias

Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across NICU, PICU, and CVPICU settings
-
Care for a wide range of complex pediatric cases including congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post neurosurgery patients

Scrubs may be any color as long as child-friendly and logo-free
-
Every other holiday required, with one holiday preference accommodated when possible
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days; full-week RTO requires making up missed shifts or extending the assignment

Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate

Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year
