Part-Time Group Fitness Coach
Because of the early-morning and split-shift schedule, applicants must live within approximately 20 minutes of Stacy, MN.
Fresh Start Fitness Studio is looking for a part-time fitness coach who genuinely enjoys working with people and isn’t afraid to lead a room.
Part-time, approximately 8–20 hours per week with opportunities for additional coaching hours as the role develops.
Schedule note: This position requires both early-morning and evening availability, including split shifts. Some Saturdays are also required. Please only apply if that schedule is realistically sustainable for you.
This is an active coaching role.
Our coaches don’t stand on the sidelines and supervise workouts.
You’ll be expected to move around the room, watch members move, correct technique, provide modifications when needed, help members choose appropriate weights, encourage them, learn names, start conversations, and notice when someone needs help before they have to ask.
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room or have a huge personality. But you do need to be comfortable approaching people, giving feedback, coaching movement, and taking the lead.
You’d probably be a great fit if you:
- Genuinely enjoy talking to and connecting with people
- Notice what’s happening around you and step in when someone needs help
- Are comfortable correcting technique and giving clear feedback
- Can modify exercises based on the person in front of you
- Can explain and demonstrate movements simply
- Actively move around the room instead of coaching from one spot
- Care about giving members a great experience
- Take feedback well and actually apply it
- Are dependable and show up when you say you will
- Like structure, clear expectations, and systems
- Want to keep learning and becoming a better coach
The role
You’ll primarily coach group fitness classes, with opportunities for personal training and semi-private coaching depending on experience, interest, and availability.
This is a part-time position requiring early-morning and evening availability. Split shifts are required.
Hours can grow over time as the right person grows into the role, but additional hours are not guaranteed.
Because of the early mornings and split schedule, we strongly prefer someone who lives within approximately 20 minutes of our gym in Stacy, MN.
What we’re looking for long term
We’re not looking for someone who just wants to pick up an occasional class.
We’re looking for someone dependable who wants to become part of the gym, get to know our members, follow our coaching standards, and continue developing as a coach.
Experience
A recognized personal training, group fitness, or strength and conditioning certification is strongly preferred.
Coaching experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person.
Technical knowledge matters, but people skills, reliability, initiative, and coachability matter just as much.
What we offer
- Structured programming
- Clear coaching standards and expectations
- Training and ongoing feedback
- A supportive small-gym environment
- Opportunities for additional coaching hours as the role grows
