American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 7 years of experience for a hospital CVOR position in Paducah, KY.

Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week

13-week contract

Call required every other weekend and every other day

Minimum of 7 years of surgical technologist experience

CVOR experience required

CST certification required

BLS certification required

Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, or comparable military training

License required if applicable

Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for CVOR operative procedures
-
Responsible for surgical prep including scrubbing into cases, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and thoroughly sterilized, and maintaining the sterile field

Passes instruments, assists the physician, and performs instrument, sponge, and sharps counts during cases

Assists with patient draping and positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN
-
Alerts the circulating nurse of any identified risks or variances from standard operating procedures
-
Performs post-case duties including gross decontamination and breakdown of instruments for Central Sterile Processing, restocking the room, and ensuring the surgical suite is disinfected and ready for the next procedure

Maintains compliance with all hospital policies, mandatory education, and age-specific competency requirements
