Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a trusted HR partner for employees and supervisors, with a focus on employee relations, investigations, leave administration, workers compensation, unemployment claims, policy compliance, and supervisor coaching.
In this role, you will have meaningful day-to-day impact. You will help employees navigate concerns, coach supervisors through difficult conversations, and support fair, consistent decisions across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted HR contact for employee concerns, complaints, conflicts, and workplace issues.

Partner with supervisors and managers on attendance, conduct, performance, and workplace behavior concerns.

Coach supervisors through counseling, corrective action, disciplinary processes, and performance improvement plans.

Review employee relations documentation for consistency, clarity, and policy alignment.
- Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct, grievances, policy violations, and conflicts.

Prepare clear investigation findings, recommendations, and related documentation.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for workers compensation claims.

Coordinate with employees, supervisors, insurance carriers, and medical providers.

Track work restrictions, medical updates, return-to-work plans, and related documentation.

Assist with accident investigations and post-accident drug testing processes.

Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and other protected leave programs.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Three or more years of employee relations or human resources experience.

Experience conducting investigations.

Strong judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and communication skills.

Ability to coach supervisors and support fair, consistent application of policies.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or comparable HR certification.

Experience in healthcare, assisted living, nonprofit, human services, or disability services.

Experience with workers compensation, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave administration
