Overview
The Executive Director is in charge of managing and implementing the strategies that pursue the vision and mission of Scuba Dogs Society (SDS): humankind in perfect harmony with nature. The Executive Director’ leads SDS's environmental education, beach clean-up, and other environmental and social-ecological programs. The Executive Director’s primary objective is to achieve the fundraising goals needed to accomplish these objectives.
Duties
Participates in the development of the strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors. Promotes and identifies resources for the implementation of the plan.
· Plans and supervises the implementation of the institutional policy in keeping with the parameters established by the Board of Directors. Presents an annual work plan and annual budget that integrate the projects to be worked on and the way in which they will be financed.
· Designs the fundraising strategy and manages funds procurement for the development of projects. Some of the funding sources are, including: government allocations, nonprofit and for-profit funding entities, individual donation campaigns, and proposals and grants, . Actively seeks new opportunities to expand and diversify sources of income.
· Identifies, evaluates, and informs the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of internal and external issues that may affect the organization and proposes actions to address the issues at hand. Facilitates the work of Board committees and promotes teamwork.
· Submits a quarterly report to the Board of Directors on day-to-day operations, budget, and progress on the strategic plan.
· Provides an annual report to all employees and the general public on the achievements of SDS.
· Organizes and participates in the meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors with the right to speak, but not to vote.
· Manages and cultivates goodstrong collaborative relationships with government agencies , schools, coastal communities, and other entities with similar objectives similar to those of SDS; cultivates , promoting in every project a vision of harmony and balance between conservation human development and developmentnature.
· Serves as a spokesperson for the organization together with the President. Promotes effective relationships with donors, partners, government representatives, schools, urban and coastal communities and other entities with a similar or complementary mission, and makes them aware of SDS's mission, environmental education and social responsibility programs, and achievements. Adapts their communication style according to the people/ or groups with whom they interact.
· Represents SDS in all activities, public hearings, and administrative procedures in which the organization’s presence is necessary or required. Exhibits behavior compatible with the values of the organization.
· Oversees SDS human resources, including setting individual goals and evaluating employee performance; establishes functions and objectives to contracted professional service resources.
· Identifies and enables professional development opportunities for employees, contract persons, and volunteers. Offers mentoring and coaching to the staff and volunteers to develop individual potential and take SDS to an optimal performance level.
· Establishes a collaborative, healthy, and safe work environment for the staff and volunteers.
Required Formal Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Entrepreneurship or , Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. Postgraduate A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in Managementmanagement or Business Administration administration of non-profit organizations is preferred, ideally with exposure to environmental or social issues.
Required Experience
Minimum two years of experience at a management or administration level, preferably in the nonprofit sector, or in the public or private sectors. Proven experience in fundraising is required. Prior experience with environmental, educational, or community organizations is a plus.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
