medical assistant daily tasks and responsibilities:
must be comfortable in emergency situations!
· Print out demographic sheets for the next day.
· Check insurances, balances, and primary care provider
· Update patient information
· Bring patients back: take weight, height, temp, blood pressure, vision and hearing
· Give immunizations in ages ranging from newborn to 21 years of age
· Collect specimens such as urine, blood and throat/nasal cultures; rapid covid 19, strep, RSV swabs
· Prior authorization for medications and doing referrals
· Complete an EKG
· Fill out school, medicine, and WIC forms
· Administer medication
· Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures
· Understand storage, and handling of vaccines
· Take vaccine and medical supply inventory
