Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals, medical condition, and developmental stage.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding to promote independence.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions across care settings.
- Provide specialized interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and support early intervention programs.
- Document clinical progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) management systems while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Engage in case management activities to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal outcomes.
- Support patients in physical rehabilitation through targeted occupational therapy techniques that improve mobility and function.
- Offer client communication that clearly explains therapy goals, procedures, and progress to patients and their families or caregivers.
- Participate in clinical interprofessional collaboration with speech therapists, physicians, nurses, educators, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy including working with children with special education needs and developmental delays.
- Experience working with students in school-based settings or early intervention programs supporting children with autism spectrum disorders.
- Background in acute care environments such as ICU or medical-surgical units is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy assessments and treatment planning.
- Familiarity with medical terminology used within healthcare documentation and interdisciplinary communication.
- Strong skills in implementing evidence-based practice approaches for clients of all ages—pediatrics through geriatrics—and diverse conditions including neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Ability to manage complex cases involving post-acute care needs or skilled nursing facilities while ensuring quality patient care through meticulous clinical documentation.

Pay: $39.69 - $50.00 per hour
