Assistant Preschool Teacher
Job Description – Assistant Teacher
Saddleback Children's Center is seeking a dynamic, proactive Assistant Teachers who is experienced in the field of Early Childhood Education for the 2025-26 school year. We are looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to start in our 2-year-old classroom starting August 3, 2026. Rate of pay is dependent on Early Childhood Education background and experience.

We are a Christian preschool that exists to provide a first educational experience, which helps each child develop to his or her full potential. Our program is high quality and is accredited through NAEYC, rated by QRIS and certified as a demonstration site for the Outdoor Classroom Project.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Early Childhood Education Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing – Assistant Teacher or working toward obtaining an Assistant Teacher Permit.
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Minimum Skills Required:
- 2 + years working with children
- Prior experience working in a classroom preferred
- Strong communication skills and comfortable working with parents
- Experience with changing diapers
Position Description: All teaching staff is responsible to provide a happy, warm atmosphere in their classrooms where parents and children like to visit and play. Assistants are expected to interact positively with children while supporting their classroom teacher, so it is crucial to understand a balance of tasks and working with children to create a positive environment with a high priority on teacher-child engagement.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
