Job Title: Appliance Installer
Openings: Two in Banning
Office Location: Banning
Workdays: Monday through Friday
Rate: $18 - $24 - p/hr; Bonus Pay; DOE

General Job Requirements:
One year demonstrated experience performing appliance installations and/or appliance repair services; High School Diploma, typically possesses two years of customer service experience; must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to take initiative and accountability for quality work, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive work ethic; work with minimal supervision and be a team player. Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull 50 pounds. Must be able to work in attics and roofs, and in hot climate areas. Must maintain a good driving record, and pass required tests, including background check and drug test.
Preferences:
Multilingual. Experienced in installing Evaporative (swamp) Coolers. Certified by one or more of the following organizations: Building Performance Institute, Inc., Community College or Trade School Certification.
Job Description:
The successful candidate is responsible for delivering and installing appliances / equipment to customer homes. The Installer must verify that all measures will meet eligibility and installation requirements prior to installation. Additionally, the installer must verify operation and quality of all measures installed to ensure California Building Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, and Utility requirements are met. Individuals must be able to perform quality work under high-pressure situations. He/she will utilize company vehicles and equipment to perform services and will facilitate excellent customer service by proactively communicating and educating the client on the services provided.
Typical Responsibilities
- Load/unload vehicles with measures to be delivered / installed
- Assemble / disassemble appliances for installation
- Trace electrical circuits and conduct tests with circuit testers and other equipment to verify grounding and correct installation of electric receptacle
- Determining causes of operating errors and take necessary steps to correct error
- Service and repair appliances/equipment such as refrigerators, room air conditioners, evaporative coolers, and clothes washers
- Replace worn and defective parts such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, circuit boards, or defective wiring.
- Reassemble units after making repairs; adjust, clean and lubricate parts as needed.
- Inspect equipment and structures to identify installation feasibility or problems and defects
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials; ability to lift and pull 50 lbs.
- Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of the appliance/equipment; demonstrate appropriate use; provide warranty information
- Record delivery/installation and maintenance/repair work utilizing designated forms
- Document service work in order to establish the nature of correction
- Track, monitor, and safeguard company inventory and supplies
- Keep up-to-date with local and state building codes and with technology and apply knowledge to job
