Overview:
The primary responsibility for the Lead Associate is to lead the venue food and beverage team with great customer service skills. The Lead Associate will communicate directly with the hourly associates and ensure that department goals are understood and achieved. This role will act as a bridge between management and hourly associates to facilitate department operation (e.g., keep managers appraised of hourly associate activities, issues, challenges, etc.). Responsibilities such as administrative tasks and other leadership roles, will be added to a Lead Associates job during long-term development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensures set-up on time with adequate amounts of product prepared and stocked
- Inspects workstations, work areas, equipment, etc. to ensure company safety and Health Code standards, as well as minimal waste and product deterioration
- Shows continual floor presence during events; observes the assigned operations to ensure guest hospitality, timeliness and loss prevention standards are met; communicates concerns and successes with GM
- Completes and distributes end of day recaps as assigned by GM
- Communicates with GM operational problems such as overproduction, waste and theft
- Work with management to ensure that hourly associates clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations (ongoing and during new hire training)
- Address guest concerns, requests or issues either individually or by enlisting the help of the management
- Gives constructive, work-related feedback to hourly associates
- Ensures fair treatment as an hourly associate’s first point of contact
- Conducts day-to-day shifts or oversees department operations as assigned by management (e.g., conduct shift briefings, ensure shift coverage)
- Serves as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties (e.g., check-in/out, food preparation, room preparation)
- Maintains safety and sanitation of guests and employees. Communicates potential hazards to GM for immediate attention and ensure incident reports are generated as needed
- Enforces Zero Tolerance Policy on underage drinking at all times.
Qualifications:
- Has demonstrated a desire to lead
- Excellent service skills demonstrated by ability the to interact successfully with a variety of people
- Must be self-motivated, with excellent time management, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to make timely and competent decisions
- Has knowledge of the market/business or similar market/business
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work the hours required by business needs
