Electrician Job Description:
PrideStaff is currently working with a facilities management solutions company that is in need of an Electrician to join their team. The Electrician will provide maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical components for fixed and non-fixed equipment in support of their clients’ needs. The ideal Electrician has experience as an electrical technician and holds a Journeyman Electrical License. The Electrician is a full-time, direct-hire position in N. Charleston, SC.
Electrician Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, Construct, Finish, Install, Maintain & Repair Electrical Systems Using Power & Hand Tools as Necessary
- Review & Install EMT, Rigid, Plastic-Bond & Steatite Conduit
- Document & Update Work Status in the CMMS System Using a Mobile Device
- Read & Follow Blueprints & Diagrams to Determine Materials Needed, Estimate Time & Material Cost & Request Supplies Needed for Timely Completion of Job
- Assist Various Contractors by Locating Cables from Low to High Voltage Throughout Campus
- Assist in Determining Manpower & Material Needs & Assigning Deadlines for Projects
- Make Emergency Repairs & Respond to Emergency Problems in the Facility as Needed
- Update and Maintain Logs, Perform Rounds & Complete Tests & Inspections
- Recommend Improvements or Modifications to Preventative Maintenance Systems
- Follow All PPE & Safety Guidelines
Electrician Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience as an Electrician in an Institutional Setting, Including Experience with up to Three-Phase, 480-Volt Installation & Repair
- Must Have a Journeyman Electrical License
- Must Have Solid Knowledge of Local, State & the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Must have Experience in Industrial Electrical Safety
- Strong Troubleshooting Skills and Ability to Identify Parts & Materials Needed is Required
- Experience with Blueprints, Specifications, or Models to Learn & Plan Layouts is Required
- Basic Math Skills for Routine Computations
- The Ability to Use Hand-Operated Construction Equipment is a Must
- Must be Able to kneel/Bend/Stoop/Stand for Extended Periods of Time and Repeatedly Lift to 50 Lbs
