Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cherry Picker Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating cherry pickers and other warehouse equipment to accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling will ensure smooth distribution processes. Duties
- Operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to retrieve and store inventory within the warehouse
- Accurately pick orders using warehouse management systems (WMS) and manual methods to ensure correct items are shipped
- Load and unload shipments safely, adhering to OSHA standards and safety protocols in production environments
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and documentation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring materials handling complies with safety standards in production
- Support warehouse distribution operations by participating in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and materials management
Requirements
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, cherry pickers, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and efficiently
- Mechanical aptitude with basic repair skills for equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safety procedures specific to warehouse operations
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy
- Warehouse experience with shipping & receiving processes and materials handling techniques
- Valid certification for forklift or lift truck operation preferred; ongoing training or certification renewal is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
