Pineland BHDD is seeking a dependable Full‑Time Vehicle Operator to safely transport individuals receiving services at our Appling-Jeff Davis Service Center. This role plays a critical part in ensuring access to care and providing respectful, reliable transportation for individuals served by our programs.
Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm; drivers must work until their assigned route is completed.
What You’ll Do
Transportation & Safety
- Safely operate agency vehicles including sedans, vans, wheelchair‑accessible vehicles, and buses
- Enforce seat belt use and follow all traffic and safety laws
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and safety restraints, including wheelchair securement
- Drive and accompany individuals on field trips or medically necessary outings
Vehicle Maintenance & Reporting
- Perform pre‑trip safety inspections and routine vehicle checks (fuel, oil, battery)
- Clean and maintain vehicle interiors and exteriors
- Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly
- Arrange towing or alternate transportation when needed
- Deliver vehicles for scheduled maintenance or repairs
Documentation & Professional Responsibilities
- Accurately complete mileage logs, passenger records, fuel usage, and inspection forms
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Communicate professionally with individuals served, staff, and the public
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and MVR review
