Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong ability to handle various breeds of dogs in a kennel environment. This role is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals in our care while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, walking areas, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
- Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets and address any questions or concerns.
- Support veterinary staff by assisting with basic medical procedures when required.
- Ensure all animals are handled safely and humanely, following established protocols.
- Participate in training programs for dog handling and behavior management as necessary.
- Ability to work weekends is a must.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or kennel environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior is a plus.
- Experience as a veterinary field is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques are essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal care tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
