Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain repair and maintenance procedures clearly, providing detailed auto estimates and service recommendations
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services and parts by highlighting benefits that meet customer needs while maximizing dealership revenue
- Manage service writing tasks accurately, including documenting vehicle issues, repair orders, and customer interactions
- Handle cash transactions professionally and maintain accurate cash handling records
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures to effectively communicate with mechanics and customers
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of auto service management and automotive diagnostics
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, tires, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing processes
- Ability to upsell additional services confidently without being pushy
- Experience in automotive repair environments with mechanic or service technician background preferred
- Effective sales skills combined with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance recommendations
- Competency in handling cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism at all times
