About the Role
Idea Insurance Agency is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commission Reconciliation Specialist to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for managing commission processing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and payment accuracy for W-2 employees, 1099 agents, and partner agencies across multiple insurance product lines.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with financial data, and has strong experience in reconciliation, reporting, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile commission payments for employees, independent agents, and sub-agencies.
- Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies and payment issues.
- Generate commission, production, and performance reports for leadership.
- Support agents with commission-related inquiries and carrier payment questions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliation documentation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure commission accuracy and timely payments.
- Utilize carrier portals, CRM systems, Excel, QuickBooks, and reporting tools to manage commission operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. An Associate's degree in a related field will be accepted with a minimum of four (4) years of directly related professional experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of experience in commission operations, financial reconciliation, accounting support, insurance administration, or a related financial operations role. (Candidates with an Associate's degree must have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks, CRM platforms, carrier portals, and reporting systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
