Overview
Touchpoint Health Transport Logistics supports the organ and tissue donation process by providing specialized transport services for surgeons, OPO staff, and tissue/labs. We are seeking dependable and professional Part-Time/On-Call Transporters to join our team. This role involves transporting personnel and materials to and from hospitals, transplant centers, and airports, providing standby support during procurement activities, and ensuring vehicles remain ready for service. Assignments are subject to your availability and are on-call, typically 24 hours or longer, requiring flexibility and reliability. For on-call services, employees receive a flat-rate stipend for the 24-hour period and are paid an additional hourly wage for time spent transporting to and standing by at the designated transport location (e.g., hospital, airfield, etc.).
Flat rate for 24-hours on-call: $50
Compensation for time spent driving/standing by: $20/hour
Drivers must sign up for and work at least 24 hours per week on average.
Duties
- Respond to dispatch notifications and pick up the assigned vehicle.
- Safely transport surgeons, OPO staff, and/or tissue between hospitals, transplant centers, and airports.
- Provide standby support at facilities while staff conduct procurement activities.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and operational readiness.
- Maintain the fleet garage area for cleanliness.
- Complete trip logs, documentation, and related paperwork accurately.
- Uphold all safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Assist with additional operational tasks as assigned.
Education, experience, and skills required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare, emergency services, or logistics is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than one (1) moving violation in the last two years.
- Ability to work flexible, extended, and on-call shifts (typically 24+ hours).
- Prior experience in transport, emergency services, or healthcare logistics is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, reliable, and adaptable under pressure.
- Physically able to sit or drive for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and basic dispatch technology.
- Must pass background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening.
