Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading, leveling, and compaction of asphalt materials.
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery to support construction activities.
- Perform manual tasks like lifting heavy materials, handling hand tools, and using power tools to prepare work zones and assist with site setup.
- Conduct utility locating and traffic control for work zones to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Support the installation of highway maintenance features and perform general site cleanup to maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects, ensuring quality standards are met throughout each phase of the project.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and Caterpillar machinery.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and road construction processes.
- Familiarity with commercial truck driving including front loader trucks and dump trucks.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues and performing routine maintenance.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction-related tools safely and effectively.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions on civil infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and safety standards.
- Skilled in traffic control setup for work zones to ensure public safety during construction activities.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged outdoor work sessions.
- Construction site experience with utility locating, highway maintenance projects, and general roadwork operations.

Pay: $25.14 - $30.28 per hour
