Job Description
Kaempf & Harris Sheet Metal is looking for a HVAC Sheet Metal Coil Line Operator. The Coil Line Operator is responsible for operating automated coil‑processing equipment used to produce sheet‑metal components for ductwork. The role combines machine operation, material handling, quality control, and safety‑focused industrial work.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Operate coil‑processing machinery cut and form sheet‑metal from coils.

Load metal coils into machines, ensuring proper alignment and feed rate.

Monitor production quality, checking dimensions, finish, and consistency of sheet‑metal output.

Perform basic equipment maintenance and follow preventive maintenance instructions.

Operate forklifts and overhead cranes for coil loading, unloading, and material movement.

Package, band, and label finished metal sheets or coils according to specifications.

Maintain clean and safe work areas, following housekeeping and safety protocols.

Communicate with team members to ensure efficient line operation and process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented, and safety‑focused.

Ability to read maintenance sheets, instructions, and basic technical documents.

Computer literacy and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., P21).

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods (common in sheet‑metal and industrial roles).

Comfortable working in warehouse or fabrication environments with noise, machinery, and moving materials.
