Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physiotherapy and patient care, with the ability to assist in implementing treatment plans across various settings. As a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating patient needs and developing individualized care plans.
- Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities such as trigger point therapy to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in accordance with facility protocols.
- Provide patient education on exercises, injury prevention, and post-treatment care to support ongoing recovery.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back to home or other care settings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment adhering to all health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility settings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients in acute or inpatient care environments.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Prior clinic experience in outpatient or inpatient settings is highly desirable.
