Join GALA Empire and help introduce elementary students to the game of basketball through high-quality afterschool enrichment programs. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and professional Youth Basketball Coach who enjoys working with children and wants to grow with an expanding youth sports organization.
This position is ideal for experienced youth basketball coaches, PE teachers, educators, recreation leaders, former athletes, or mentors who understand that great coaching is about developing confidence, teamwork, discipline, and character—not just teaching skills.
Pay: $30.00/hour
Schedule: Approximately 4 hours/week
Typical Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00 PM–4:30 PM
Season: October 1, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Location: North Miami Beach and surrounding school locations
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging basketball practices for elementary students (Grades K–5).
- Teach age-appropriate basketball fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence.
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with students, school staff, and families.
- Maintain organized practices with strong group management.
- Represent GALA Empire professionally at every program location.
- Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to lead every session.
Who We're Looking For
We hire coaches who are prepared, dependable, and passionate about creating meaningful experiences for children.
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience coaching basketball or teaching sports to elementary-aged children.
- Is energetic, patient, encouraging, and great with kids.
- Has strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and player development.
- Communicates professionally with students, parents, and staff.
- Shows attention to detail and takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Arrives early, prepared, and ready to provide a high-quality experience.
- Has reliable transportation and can travel locally within the North Miami Beach area.
Soccer knowledge or experience is a plus, but not required, and may lead to additional coaching opportunities.

Qualifications
Required
- Previous basketball coaching, playing, teaching, or youth sports experience.
- Experience working with children ages K–5.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred
- AAU, club, recreation, school, or academy coaching experience.
- PE teaching or classroom management experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
