JOB SUMMARY
Our technicians install, trouble-shoot and repair oil, propane and heat pump systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations and Bob’s Cash Fuel policies. Performs efficiency tests, tune-ups, and contract service inspections. Knowledge to install and maintain AC units as well as heat pumps preferred, but not required. Training is available for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Installs, trouble-shoots and repairs oil and/or propane heating systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures all work is performed safely and accurately to meet customer’s expectations, reduce liability to the company as well as ensuring customer’s property is respectfully maintained.
- Promotes strong customer service through a professional appearance and courteous interactions with customers. Serves as the company’s point of contact with the customer and is expected to practice the company's core values. - Ability to discuss equipment issues and potential solutions with customers, helping to determine the best resolution
- Maintains a neat and orderly service vehicle. Ensures that all tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Requires use of an electronic tablet to enter labor, parts used and notes on work orders in the field.
- Attend weekly meetings to discuss safety, procedures, issues, etc. Feedback and input in encouraged.
- Participates in night and weekend on-call schedule as necessary as part of the Service Department team.
- Performs propane Gas-check inspections according to applicable codes and company policy. (Propane Technicians)
- May be asked to perform other work-related duties as necessary.
- Ability to work with other HVAC Technicians, Tank Setters, Delivery Drivers, Office Staff and Delivery Dispatcher.
- Ability to make decisions regarding the installation and/or troubleshooting and repair of heating and cooling equipment, with assistance of Service Manager or more senior Technicians when required.
- Can effectively use industry related equipment including, but limited to, hand tools, testing equipment, threading equipment, soldering torch, power tools, gauges and meters.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The position requires frequent driving, standing, walking, and sitting
- There is occasional to frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing
- There is frequent use of the hands/arms to reach, feel, handle, lift or pull
- There is frequent communication involving both talking and listening
- Required lifting or pushing objects, some of which are over 100 pounds. Company policy requires employees ask for assistance when moving large/awkward or heavy objects to avoid injury.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:
Knowledge and mindset for safe operation of all service vehicles, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment, proper lifting of heavy parts or equipment, and general observation of the surroundings where work is being done.
EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
- Apprentice - Will have successfully completed oil burner training course or CETP program
- Journeyman - Must hold a current oil and/or propane (PNG) technician license.
- Masters are encouraged to apply as well!
- EPA Refrigerant License preferred not required. Training is available
- Technicians with BOTH oil and propane licenses are PREFERRED, but training for the propane and EPA license are available.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required. Driving record is reviewed at employment and annually.
Pay: $27.00 - $45.00 per hour
