Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with HVAC system installation, including ductwork, piping, and electrical connections.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems such as air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls.
- Learn to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams to understand system layouts and diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Use hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults and carry out repairs.
- Support the servicing of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration units when applicable.
- Follow safety protocols related to electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigerant handling (EPA certification preferred), and mechanical systems repair.
Qualifications
- Construction experience or previous hands-on work in related trades is highly desirable.
- Service technician experience or exposure to HVAC/R environments is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles and building automation systems is advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively; welding skills are a bonus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC system repair and maintenance.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
- Willingness to learn electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and refrigeration techniques.
- EPA certification or willingness to obtain certification within the training period is preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
