Medical Assistant (Experienced Phlebotomy Required)
Location: 1011 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing outpatient practice in Oak Park. This position is ideal for someone who is confident performing phlebotomy and comfortable working with electronic medical records.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws with confidence and efficiency
- Enter orders accurately into the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Chaperone for the physician
- Assist providers with patient care and clinical workflow
- Prepare patients for visits and maintain exam rooms
- Document patient information accurately
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of daily phlebotomy experience (drawing blood as a regular part of your job)
- Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient clinic
- Experience entering clinical orders in an EMR preferred
- Comfortable with EMR documentation and order entry
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer data entry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required if experience is strong
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Preferred
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Primary care or family medicine experience
- Medical Assistant certification
- Reconcile medications.
- Attach outside laboratory, imaging, hospital, and emergency room records.
- Complete documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with clinical quality measures and preventive care documentation.
Office Responsibilities
- Enter laboratory, imaging, medication, and referral orders.
- Provide patient instructions regarding scheduling and follow-up.
- Assist with referrals and prior authorizations as assigned.
- Complete daily EMR task lists.
- Assist front office staff when needed.
- Participate in Chronic Care Management activities when assigned.
