Job Summary
Leads the daily operations of the Environmental Services department including the cleaning & disinfection of the physical environment, environmental infection prevention and control, linen distribution, waste management, and pest control. Provides support for Food & Nutrition Services, Linen Services, and Patient Transportation departments to ensure optimal operation of support services. It is the responsibility of the Director to oversee and lead the Environmental Services department in healthcare best practices, principles of high reliability organizations, maintain high standards and provide for a hospitality culture. Works closely with all departments to solve issues associated with the department's scope of services. Maintains a strong focus on patient experience, performing rounds and communicating with patients and family members to ensure a positive experience. Provides for compliance with policies & procedures, standards, guidelines, and regulations. Leads, coaches, and provides service to the organization with a strong sense of emotional intelligence, customer service, patient experience and employee engagement focus, exhibits servant leadership qualities, and fosters a culture of support and mentorship while being authentic, transparent, demonstrating compassion and caring. Work independently and collaboratively with hospital leadership teams to provide extraordinary service and enhance our Hospitality Culture.
Essential Functions
- JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the successful operations of the department: 1. Assists Senior Director of Support Services and/or AVP of Facilities and Support Services in overseeing the evaluation of the physical condition of the hospital; Maintains accountability for best practices of all established cleaning and disinfection processes. 2. Collaborates and problem-solves with members of other Departments and Senior Leadership to coordinate Support Services activities with those of other departments. 3. Responsible for development of and maintaining supply and labor budgets for the Environmental Services & Linen departments, also supports Patient Transport and Food & Nutrition Departments. Discusses any variances with Senior Director of Support Services and/or AVP of Facilities and Support Services. 4. Responsible for all aspects of Support Services human resources oversite. (Activities including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and terminating). 5. Monitors all metrics for the Environmental Services, Linen, Patient Transport and Food & Nutrition Departments and directs alignment accordingly. 6. Assists the Senior Director of Support Services and/or AVP of Facilities and Support Services in conducting research to improve hospital support services technology and equipment. 7. Oversee all aspects of Performance Improvement efforts and the throughput process. 8. Collaborates with infection prevention and control in the introduction of new cleaning agents, equipment and processes, as well the education and compliance of all infection control isolation precautions cleaning and disinfection protocols. 9. Works in partnership with Safety Officer and Facilities Manager in the provision of a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees. 10. Acts as liaison with contracted linen service. 11. Assist Contract Management team of Patient Transportation operations requested and other duties by the Senior Director of Support Services and/or AVP of Facilities and Support Services. 12. Demonstrates and understands the special needs of specific age groups including the neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patient.

Demonstrates compliance with licensure/certification requirements and the timeliness of their submission.
- C. BUDGET: 1. Assists in preparation of the departmental annual operating budget. 2. Demonstrates ability to manage variances in the budget including Human Resource management and management of expenses. 3. Collaborates with employees to control costs and pursue additional revenue opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree Required
- 3-5 years Leadership experience, preferably in a Healthcare setting Required
