Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing to support diverse dietary needs and preferences
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production machinery
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Handle food with care, demonstrating excellent knife skills and food handling techniques during meal preparation
- Support catering events or special meal services by coordinating food production and timely delivery
- Follow all food safety management protocols, including proper storage, labeling, and inventory control
Experience
- Previous high volume culinary experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably within college/university or banquet/catering high-volume settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and recipe adherence
- Experience with menu planning, food safety sanitizing procedures, and operating various kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or food industry standards related to food handling and safety management
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards in meal preparation
- Restaurant or catering experience demonstrating excellent food service skills and attention to detail
- Skilled in knife handling, food production processes, and ensuring compliance with health regulations
