Prioritized Must Have Skills for the A&P Aircraft Mechanic:
#1. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License and Inspection Authorization (IA) required.
#2. Minimum 3 recent and consecutive years of General Aviation (GA) experience as a certificated A&P Mechanic.
#3. Hands on experience troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
#4. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, parts catalogs, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives with working knowledge of FAA Title 14 Parts 43 and 91.
#5. Experience making aircraft logbook entries, releasing aircraft for return to service, making airworthiness decisions, and working independently while managing workflow and priorities.
Responsibilities for the A&P Aircraft Mechanic:
The A&P Aircraft Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA) is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on flight school aircraft while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and applicable FAA regulations. This position performs aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, return to service activities, maintenance documentation, and airworthiness determinations while maintaining a safe and organized maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft.
- Perform maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, parts catalogs, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Make aircraft airworthiness decisions.
- Complete aircraft logbook entries.
- Release aircraft for return to service.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Work flexible shifts as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and learn the Talon RMS maintenance program.
- Work independently while managing workflow and changing priorities.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Title 14 Parts 43 and 91.
Requirements for the A&P Aircraft Mechanic:
Education
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 recent and consecutive years of General Aviation experience as a certificated A&P Mechanic.
- Piper aircraft experience preferred.
- Garmin G1000 experience is a plus.
- Aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
Other Key Requirements:
- 100% on site
- This position works a Friday through Sunday schedule consisting of 12 hour shifts.
