Kindful Restoration is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-minded Transportation Coordinator to support transportation services for justice-involved individuals, program participants, youth, adults, families, and community members accessing Kindful Restoration services.
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating rides, monitoring vehicle use, maintaining transportation documentation, supporting drivers, tracking mileage, completing safety checks, and ensuring transportation services are provided in a safe, respectful, timely, and professional manner.
This position plays an important role in helping participants access appointments, programs, court-related requirements, housing support, employment services, behavioral health services, community resources, family visits, and other essential services.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily transportation schedules, routes, driver assignments, participant pick-ups, and drop-offs.
Track transportation requests, trip details, mileage, vehicle use, rider information, and service outcomes.
Communicate with staff, drivers, participants, families, and community partners regarding transportation needs and changes.
Ensure vehicles are used safely, responsibly, and in accordance with Kindful Restoration policies.
Maintain daily transportation logs, mileage records, gas receipts, safety check forms, incident reports, and required documentation.
Monitor vehicle cleanliness, maintenance needs, safety supplies, registration, insurance documents, and required equipment.
Assist with transportation reporting connected to grant, county, Medi-Cal, or program requirements.
Support documentation of rider categories when required, including low-income individuals, youth, veterans, parolees, justice-involved individuals, and unique riders.
Ensure confidentiality and professional boundaries are maintained when working with participants and families.
Respond calmly and professionally to scheduling changes, transportation delays, participant concerns, or vehicle-related issues.
Complete or oversee vehicle safety checks before transportation services are provided.
Report vehicle incidents, accidents, safety concerns, maintenance issues, or participant concerns to leadership immediately.
Work closely with Program Directors, Case Managers, Community Health Workers, House Managers, and administrative staff to support participant access to services.
Required Qualifications
Experience in transportation coordination, dispatch, case management, community services, logistics, administration, or related work preferred.
Strong organization, scheduling, communication, and follow-up skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and complete documentation on time.
Basic computer skills and ability to use spreadsheets, electronic logs, phones, email, and online documentation systems.
Ability to work respectfully with justice-involved individuals and people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Dependable, flexible, patient, and solution-focused.
Valid California driver’s license required.
Clean driving record preferred.
Ability to pass background screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with nonprofit programs, reentry services, behavioral health programs, youth services, transportation programs, or community-based organizations.
Experience tracking mileage, gas, vehicle use, safety checks, incident reports, or grant-related data.
Knowledge of Riverside County community resources and service areas.
Experience working with justice-involved individuals, youth, adults, families, or vulnerable populations.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Work Environment
This position may include office-based work, field coordination, vehicle checks, community-based transportation support, and communication with drivers and program staff throughout the day.
The Transportation Coordinator may work with individuals who have complex housing, behavioral health, legal, medical, and social service needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move around vehicles as needed.
Ability to use a phone, computer, tablet, and electronic documentation systems.
Ability to review vehicle safety items, inspect basic vehicle conditions, and carry light transportation materials or supplies.
Ability to travel locally when needed.
