Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team at Penn's Grove Middle School as a Stage Technician for evening events. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of technical aspects during performances, including sound, lighting, and stage management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the performing arts and a strong technical background, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is for the evening events and the payment is prorated based on daytime and evening events.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate sound and lighting equipment for school performances and events.
- Collaborate with directors and performers to understand technical requirements and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Conduct sound checks and lighting tests prior to events to ensure optimal performance quality.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of stage sets and props as needed.
- Monitor and maintain equipment during performances, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.
- Ensure the safety and organization of the stage area before, during, and after events.
- Provide support to performers and crew members, offering assistance as required.
- Maintain an inventory of technical equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Participate in post-event evaluations to discuss improvements for future performances.
Requirements
- Previous experience in stage production, sound, or lighting technology is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of audio and lighting equipment and their operation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment and perform manual tasks related to stage setup and breakdown.
